Full moon photography
Hello, how can I take a picture of the full moon showing the clouds as well without loosing the structure of the moon?
The trick I use is to wait until some cloud passes in front of the moon to dim it a bit, then increase the exposure of the darker clouds by some combination of widening the aperture, decreasing the shutter speed (keeping it fast enough to freeze cloud movement), and bumping up the the ISO.
Maybe you can also do something like that http://fixthephoto.com/blog/retouch-tip ... oshop.html
Moon photography is a ton of fun in the event that you have a zooming focal point. Something 400mm or longer works best so you can persuade the moon to be gigantic in your edge and catch the most detail.Put your camera in manual mode. Set your ISO to 10 or 200 and your opening to f/8 or something like that. Use spot metering to concentrate on the moon and alter your settings.
