Bahia

Bahia (portug. baía = Bucht) ist ein Bundesstaat in Brasilien und südlichster Teil der Region Nordosten. Mit einer Fläche von 561.026 km² ist Bahia ein wenig größer als Frankreich.
Die Hauptstadt ist Salvador da Bahia de todos os Santos, das bis 1763 Hauptstadt Brasiliens war. Bahia ist mit 1.183 km Küste das brasilianische Bundesland mit der längsten Atlantikküste.

Bahia is one of the 26 states of Brazil, and is located in the northeastern part of the country on the Atlantic coast.
It is the fourth most populous Brazilian state after São Paulo, Minas Gerais and Rio de Janeiro, and the fifth-largest in size. It is also one of the most important states in terms of history and culture, in Brazil's, and it's only comparable to Pernambuco in Brazilian's Northeast Region.
