Happy July 4th Weekend (for those celebrating)
This one is for my Yank F-C friends.
July 4th is Independence Day in the United States. It was on this date in 1776, that the Founding Fathers
in a hot and stuffy hall in Philadelphia put their quill pens to the document declaring the thirteen original
colonies to be free from allegiance to the British Crown.
As such, the Fourth of July is a festive day each year in the U.S,
marked by patriotic events, concerts, and, of course, fireworks displays.
Oh, yes, as a friend across the Pond once told this Yank photographer, Independence Day is also the day Brits
celebrate as the anniversary of shedding a pestilential batch of colonies full of people with no respect for fine teas ;-)
