She's waiting to be picked up and taken to the ball. She's under the watchful eye of an elder. She'll sing happy birthday and have a slice of cake, and then brought home after playing and watching others open gifts. At the party she'll be under the watchful eye of another family deciding which girl will be the future wife of somebodies else's son. This could bring money into the family. It's big business in an old way. Then again this is life in someone else's culture trying to stay firm as the social media tears down an old society without teaching people how to be in the New Social world of India.Men are still wanting things both ways for their personal advantages while not understanding the real evolvement of women gathering a stronger voice about their own civil and social rights that have nothing to do with men in India or in any country.
