MetroRail Springtime
A westbound Washington Metrorail Blue Line train of Kawasaki 7000-series
railcars sweeps around curve as it approaches Arlington National Cemetery Station.
In the tele-compressed background is a slice of the Rosslyn skyline, deep under which the train
has just passed before emerging into the inviting sunlight of this late afternoon in mid-April.
Prior to its station stop in Rosslyn, the train tunneled under the Potomac from Washington.
That - and the high ground on which Rosslyn sits - accounts for the considerable depth of
the tracks in Rosslyn station, as well as its very long escalators.
