The Fungi World (126) : Black Birch Bolete
The Black Birch Bolete is (like his brother, the common Birch Bolete – see picture below) a typical deciduous forest fungus that grows nearly always in the neighbourhood of birches.
Those 2 species do not differ morphologically much, except for the fact that the cap colour is dark brown to blackish.
However, the Black Birch Bolete is much more rare !
Dutch name : Zwarte berkenboleet
German name : Schwärzlicher Birkenpilz
Latin name : Leccinum melaneum
