Traveling Circus #1

Although being stressed by private obligations I could find a time slot to once again reactivate my passion… A traveling circus stopped in our town and I could agree on shooting them - including this publication. For me it was difficult to decide on color or B&W … (I'm mostly a B&W man) so some will appear in color - it could fit to a circus in some cases more.

So here I'm starting with this portrait of the guy responsible for the animals. The whole staff of the circus belong to one family - everybody does everything!

Nicely done, Carlos. The rope implies your friendly, open face belongs to a roustabout, as do his clothes. Your dark background provides a strong contrast and effectively brings out your subject.

A fine monochrome portrait of this gentleman, and a very lovely and interesting series.
    best wishes,

I think it is a very strong portrait. The black and white tones work very well and make the individual look strong and hard working.

he's got the world (of his circus) on a string – both literally and figuratively speaking: i've never seen such a fierce and steely smile before! it pierces right through me. i do sense kindness but also cynicism, and frustration – i guess it takes a resilient, stubborn, and hard man to run a small circus these days, especially in a time when animal shows no longer have lobbies. a great mesmerizing portrait of an intense character who's only half opening up to the camera, and that makes it particularly fascinating! greetings, sabine.

    Great..

As everywhere in the world, the circus staff does everything..the character pictured here, no doubt has his wrinkles because of the hard task of feeding the animals, training them..moreover being in the stage with them..I´ve seen this circus guy long ago..

    Congratulations

I see that this happens everywhere..

    Hugs
    Carlos
